During the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, Square Enix announced Harvestella. Harvestella is a life-sim RPG releasing on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch on November 4.
Harvestella is farm sim-meets-JRPG. Players grow and tend crops, gather and cook ingredients, befriend townsfolk, and venture into monster-filled areas. The world isn’t exactly a relaxing utopia, however.
A new, abnormal season has begun appearing, called Quietus. During Quietus crops wither and die, and people cannot venture outside. These seasons are growing longer each year, threatening everyone’s livelihood.
Players can choose from several JRPG jobs, such as fighter, shadow walker, and mage. Jobs can even be swapped mid-combat. By exploring the world and delving into dungeons they can discover the origins of Quietus and free the world from this growing catastrophe.
Harvestella will release on Steam and Switch on November 4, including a physical edition for Switch. Pre-orders are available now on Steam, and coming soon for Switch. It’s rated T for Teen with fantasy violence, language, and alcohol use.
