Today’s “Micro” from Nintendo Direct revealed some exciting new developments in the game world. Here’s a breakdown of every announcement.
Chibi Robot from Nintendo looks pretty cute.
Chibi-Robot! Zip Lash
Chibi-Robot! Zip Lash is a new and adorable sidescrolling puzzle game. The chibi—meaning small, cute, and childlike—robot wields a spark plug that can be used in various ways. Looks like there’s a fair amount of angular physics involved, too! The game will come out for 3DS in October 2015 with a special exclusive Amiibo.
Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure
This new Dr. Mario game will resemble previous editions. But it will have new “Miracle Cure” feature that will allow players to erase viruses and medicine capsules of the same color. You’ll also be able to play as Dr. Luigi, and there will be multiplayer gameplay as well. Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure is available to pre-order today. It will be officially released for 3DS on June 11.
Bravely Second: End Layer
Bravely Default‘s sequel is coming to North America in 2016.
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
This Pokémon game’s release isn’t a new announcement, but its release date in early 2016 is. The game will feature all 720 Pokémon from the series, including Legendary Pokemon.

LBX: Little Battlers eXperience
Based on the anime and toy series, LBX is all about robot battles. Players will be able to customize their own little robots and pit them against others. There are 130 models and over 4,000 parts to choose from. The game comes out for 3DS on August 21.
Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition
These are older games, but Nintendo has promised to start releasing free weekly content for the games.
Splatoon
Splatoon came out this week, and Courtney is busy working on Pixelkin’s review as I write this. A couple of free extra content features were announced in the Micro Direct—a new gun and a new map. Ranked battle mode will also support characters over level 10 now.
Art Academy: Home Studio
This new app is based on its predecessor, Art Academy: Sketchpad. It has more features and content, and will also allow artists to post time-lapse videos of their work to YouTube. People who already own Sketchpad will get $4 off Home Studio when it comes out on Wii U on June 25.
Project Treasure
This Wii-U exclusive free-to-play game just got a new trailer. Project Treasure is a four-player co-op game where players raid ancient tombs searching for treasure while fighting zombies and other monsters.
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
This sports game will launch around the 2016 Olympics in Rio for Wii U and 3DS.
Nintendo also announced that it now has dedicated social media accounts on Snapchat and Periscope under the name @NintendoAmerica.
