Bravely Default

Bravely Default features four heroes—Agnes, Edea, Tiz, and Ringabel—and their quest to restore their world's corrupted crystals. They are thwarted by a group called The Knights of the Eternian Sky, as well as plagued by peoples' misconceptions and misunderstandings. Agnes, for instance, is distrusted by many because she is the Wind Vestal. She was supposed to protect the first corrupted crystal from being consumed in darkness, but failed.

The heroes are aided and guided by a fairy named Airy, who may not be all she seems to be. Complicating things is the discovery that this isn't the first time this has happened. Ringabel, who has no memories, discovers that he has an identical twin; however, it's possible that this twin is the "real" version, while Ringabel himself is from a previous cycle.

Bravely Default's themes include personal responsibility, alternate realities, and overcoming obstacles in order to do the right thing.

• What did you think of the costumes/camera angles in Bravely Default? Is it appropriate for underage girls (16) to be sexualized in this way, even if only mildly?
• Do you think the women and girls were treated respectfully? Were they treated differently from the men and boys?
• There is one character who repeatedly hits on the women around him, including interpreting the rebuffs to his advances as flirtation. How might this be a problematic view for men to take?
