RedOctane Games have unlocked digital game-only pre-orders for Stage Tour, including a 10% discount ($39.99), on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox. The instrumental rhythm game will release on December 10 on PC, PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox.

The digital-only version doesn’t include any instruments (obviously). Stage Tour doesn’t require them, however! Thanks to the new Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane charts, players can play the rhythm game with a standard controller, or even mouse and keyboard.
Instead of separating the parts into guitar, bass, drums, etc, Arcade mode combines all the parts into dedicated note charts. Every song is playable across multiple difficulty levels in Arcade mode.
Stage Tour also supports legacy hardware from the original Guitar Hero and Rock Band eras. PC has the most support (dating back to 2006!) while consoles may require some extra hoops and connections. Still, it’s an awesome feature — I definitely still have all my old plastic guitars, and full Rock Band set, from the 2000s.
Of course, Stage Tour will also include several bundles and options for new guitars and drum kits, including the Stage Tour Kramer Guitar Bundle, and the Stage Tour Drum Kit. Instruments and bundle kits are also available to pre-order at participating retailers.
Stage Tour is the spiritual successor to Rock Band, designed by the original developers behind the Guitar Hero series. It features over 90 officially licensed songs from across multiple generations, eras, and genres of music, including Metallica, The Cure, Paramore, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.
The now classic rhythm gameplay is largely unchanged: players follow cascading color-coded notes on their charts, pressing them in time with the color buttons on their guitars (or drum set), or matching their vocal range with the vocal track. Multiplayer supports up to four players in any combination of instruments, across local and online play. Stage Tour also adds a new single player campaign that features strategy, power-ups, and roguelite progression.
Stage Tour will release on December 10 for PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated T for Teen.
