After months of beta testing, Pawprint Studio has released creature collecting RPG, Aniimo, on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also coming to mobile platforms on September 23.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers also receive an exclusive monthly Aniimo pack, which includes 1 Aniipod Ultra, 15 Growth Flowers, and 300 Glimmer.

Aniimo is a colorful world filled with creatures, inspired by Genshin Impact and Pokémon. As new Pathfinders, it’s the player’s job to explore the world of Idyll and discover the titular Aniimo.

At launch, the game includes over 200 Aniimo, including regional and color variants, and multiple rarities.

The open world features multiple territories supporting different levels of play, from quests to bosses and hidden treasures, and more.

In addition to summoning different Aniimo in real-time battle, players can also merge with their Aniimo directly. The process is called Twining, and it’s what sets Aniimo apart from most creature battlers. Through Twining, players become their favorite Aniimo, battling in third-person action. Each Aniimo has unique abilities and traits, and many can help travel around the world by gliding, climbing, or swimming.

Pathfinders also gain access to their own personal Homeland area, where they can build, expand, and customize an automated farm, and provide a home to their Aniimo.

I quite enjoyed the game when I played the Aniimo beta earlier this year.

Although primarily designed as an online single-player game (like many Hoyoverse gacha games), Aniimo supports cooperative play to join with friends, or engage in specific PvP modes.

“The Aniimo team has worked diligently to finally bring the dreams of ourselves and our players to reality,” said Janson Zhang, Lead Game Designer, Pawprint Studio. “Through their efforts and immense support from Pathfinders around the globe, the world of Aniimo is now ready for you to discover with us, and we can’t wait to go on this journey together!”

New players can unlock the following free in-game launch rewards:

  • Rare Prismana Aniimo
  • Exclusive Accessories
  • Login bonuses: Susuta eggs, Sunlit Meadow Limited Avatar Frame, Aniipod Ultra, 200 Glimmer

Aniimo is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It releases on September 23 on iOS and Android mobile platforms. A Mac version is also coming soon. It’s rated E10+.
