During the September Nintendo Direct showcase, Windup Games and Knights Peak showcased a new story trailer for open world co-op adventure, Hela: of Mice and Magic, along with a release date. Hela will release on December 1 on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox (including Game Pass).
Hela: of Mice & Magic is designed as a cooperative adventure, including local split-screen, or online. Up to four players play as the small rodent familiars of a friendly witch who has recently fallen ill. Using their magical backpacks given by the witch, the mice explore their fantastical world inspired by Scandinavian folklore, and protect their homeland (and their witch) from danger.
The cozy game focuses on 3D exploration, foraging, brewing, and puzzle solving. And sometimes just finding new places to relax.
Hela won Most Entertaining Game and Most Wholesome Game at last year’s Gamescom event.
In addition to the standard digital release, the game is also getting a limited physical version called the Harmony Edition, for PlayStation, Switch 2, and Xbox. The Harmony Edition includes the digital soundtrack, a 48-page art book, reversible poster, stickers, and an extra outerbox. The Harmony Edition also includes an actual physical disc for PlayStation and Xbox.
Prices for either edition have yet to be announced.
Hela: of Mice & Magic will release on December 1. It’s rated E for Everyone.
