The next big seasonal content update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, Pixel Perfect, has arrived. Pixel Perfect finally adds Vanellope’s friend Ralph from Wreck-it Ralph, a new seasonal Star Path, and some big changes to high-level friendships.
Like Tiana, Cinderella, Stitch, and Pocahontas, Ralph doesn’t come with his own Realm, but instead arrives after a specific new quest.
In order to unlock Ralph, you’ll need to have completed the main story of Dreamlight Valley, and unlocked The Forgotten and Peter Pan as Villagers. The Forgotten will direct you toward a glitchy arcade machine that soon leads to summoning Ralph into the Valley.
Ralph’s Friendship Quest includes a Bad-Anon Meeting, making new friends, and reconnecting with Vanellope. There may also be some wrecking (and fixing) involved.
Speaking of Valley friends, we’re getting a rather big update to friendships that applies to all our Valley pals.
Once a friend has reached level 7, they can be set to gather an item in a specific biome using Item Assist. The item must be related to their given role (such as Fishing, Farming, or Mining). The next day, they’ll have an item bundle ready to claim!
Items can include rare versions, like shiny games, but friends cannot gather seasonal event-exclusive items.
While searching, the friends will still remain in the Valley, and there’s no limits to how many Friends can be sent on item searches. Go forth, my minions, and gather!
At Level 10, friends become Best Friends, replacing the max-level Friendship bar with a new Gold Heart progress bar. This bar resets daily, and can only be filled once per day. When a Best Friend’s Gold Heart bar is full, it unlocks a special perk for a limited time: you and the Best Friend will have a Best Friend Glow that unlocks max level role bonuses for all roles, alongside a new Best Friends Sprint!
No more having to swap to different friends as you tackle different tasks!
Filling the Gold Heart bar is pretty much the same as raising a Villager’s level: chat and hang out each day, gift their favorite gifts, and serve them when they’re at a restaraunt.
Players can also fast-travel to any of their Best Friends.
Resetting friends’ roles has also been made much easier. Training Manuals are much easier to craft, and they can be given at any level, instead of having to wait until level 10!
Gifting is also easier, with one gift re-roll per day, and giving multiple gifts at once.
The new Pop City Star Path features clothing, lighting, and furniture themed around urban — sorry, ‘city-core’ items, as well as some cat-fashion inspired by The Aristocats.
Another Floating Festival event will begin on August 19, this one themed around Disney Parks, and feature weekly puzzles and rewards. Before that, players can collect marshmallows in the Summer Sizzle Event. And in September, the Memory Mania event from the last year’s Inside Out update returns, alongside a new Companion.
Other additions include two more Biome rooms added to Olaf’s Grand Exhibition (Sunlight Plateau and Frosted Heights), new Biome-specific crafting recipes, and a new Meteor Shower environmental effect available in the Premium Shop.
Players who own the Storybook Vale Expansion can also unlock three new Floating Islands inspired by its unique biomes.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox, and rated E for Everyone.
