The Whispers of the Wind update is now available for Disney Dreamlight Valley, adding Disney Princess Pocahontas, a new Star Path, and a new museum.
Pocahontas arrives similarly to Cinderella last December: with little fanfare and without her own Realm to explore. Perhaps this is the compromise to getting one of Disney’s more controversial protagonists, due to her real-world historical relevance.
You’ll be alerted to search Dazzle Beach from a message in your mailbox. Once you find the Green Algae, simply talk to Moana to begin the short quest.
Like other Valley Villagers, Pocahontas includes her own Friendship Quests and rewards. Plus, you can unlock Meeko, her racoon companion.
The update also adds an Animal Crossing-like museum to the Valley. To build the Grand Exhibition, you’ll need to talk to Olaf. Inside, you can submit items and creatures from each biome to fully decorate them, and unlock the displays for the Valley.
At launch, the Grand Exhibition only features two areas: Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach. More displays will unlock in future updates.
The Elements of Nature Star Path doesn’t have much to do with Pocahontas’ arrival, instead nodding to Pixar’s Elemental, as well as generic springtime. By completing duties, players can earn rewards such as flower dresses and houses, as well as a volcano!
For the first time, players can also complete routine duties to unlock some older Star Path rewards, called Vault Rewards — a nice touch for players who joined later.
Finally, the Whispers of the Wind update adds new Premium Shop items (including a Percy companion, and Colors of Nature reskins for stalls), a new crafting menu with search bar and filters, and two new events.
The annual Eggstravangza Event is still going on through April 21, with colorful eggs found around the Valley, craftable into unique items.
The new events are coming a bit later. The Springtime Floating Festival adds a new floating island of puzzles and rewards to explore, beginning April 29, through May 19. After that is the Treasure Hunt event starting on May 27. Players will hunt for treasure by following clues and digging and fishing around the Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC and Mac, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, and rated E for Everyone.
