During the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase of February 2026, Nintendo revealed that Disney Dreamlight Valley will launch on Switch 2 on March 25.

The reveal was during a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment with a montage of Switch 2 releases towards the end of the Partner Showcase.

The Switch 2 version of Dreamlight Valley will “benefit from improved frame rate, increased resolution, faster loading times, and a higher item limit of 6,000, giving you more freedom to decorate and explore.” In comparison, the item limit for the original Switch is set to 3,000 total items.

The Switch 2 update will be completely free for players who already own the original Nintendo Switch version.

Dreamlight Valley launched on the Nintendo Switch (and other platforms) in 2023. The Switch version has consistently suffered from mediocre performance, downgraded textures, texture loading, and crashes.

A Switch 2 version was our number one requested feature of 2026 for a reason!

The live service life sim is nearing the end of its Winter Ball seasonal update, and heading toward its next major update, Puppy Love. Puppy Love will add Lady and Tramp from Lady and the Tramp, including an all-new Realm, and new Star Path. Both doggos arrive as full Villagers, with their own Friendship Quests and rewards. The Puppy Love update will unlock on February 11.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC (Steam, Mac), Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, and arriving on Switch 2 on March 25. It’s rated E for Everyone.
