Ubisoft, Massive Entertainment, and Lightstorm Entertainment released a new expansion for action-adventure game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, inspired by the third Avatar film: Fire and Ash. Avatar: From the Ashes ($24.99) drops alongside a free update that adds third-person gameplay and a New Game+ mode.
From the Ashes stars new character So’lek, a more angry, battle-hardened Na’vi on a vengeful path against the Mangkwan raiders of the Ash Clan. The expansion introduces Na’vi versus Na’vi battles, as the Mangkwan hunt and battle the player, from Rakx’s flying skills on her ikran, to the stealthy sniper Zari.
Those pesky humans at the RDA have allied with the Ash Clan, adding more enemies and advanced weaponry to destroy any resistance on Pandora.
The action is set in the Ravaged Kinglor Forest of the Western Frontier, also featured in the new Avatar film.
“From the Ashes is raw and personal,” said Omar Bouali, Creative Director, Massive Entertainment. “It puts So’lek face-to-face with enemies who know his history and how to exploit it, while giving players the broader combat variety they’ve been asking for.”
“This expansion advances Pandora’s mythology in bold ways,” said Joshua Izzo, EVP, Franchise Development, Lightstorm Entertainment. “It invites fans to experience the Ash Clan’s rise and its impact across the Western Frontier. We’re excited for Avatar fans to experience untold stories through new interactive adventures after watching Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters.”
Avatar: From the Ashes is available as an expansion if you already own Frontiers of Pandora, or as part of the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora — From the Ashes Edition, or the Complete Edition.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and rated T for Teen.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is in theaters now, and rated PG-13.
