The Pokémon Company has announced the release date for upcoming life sim, Pokémon Pokopia. Pokémon Pokopia will release on March 5, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 ($69.99). Pre-orders are available now on the Nintendo eShop.

First announced during the Nintendo Direct from September, Pokopia is a spinoff of the Pokémon series where players play as a Ditto, the amorphous, shape-shifting Pokémon.

In the game, Ditto mostly looks like a (weird) human, but by finding Pokémon friends, they can copy their abilities. Different Pokémon abilities are used to clear rocks and grass, water crops, and harvest them.

Like other life sims, players can gather materials to craft furniture, and even buildings. By meeting Pokémon and unlocking more of the area, players can create their own custom Pokémon village. Pokopia also features a day/night cycle, and different weather events, which I’m guessing will affect when certain Pokémon can be found.

The store page confirms local and online multiplayer (as teased in the trailer), though The Pokémon Company hasn’t reveled any details about how multiplayer works yet.
