Indie developer Dinosaur Polo Club have released a free update for traffic sim puzzle game, Mini Motorways, adding a highly requested feature: Creative Mode.

Creative Mode gives players full control to redesign any of the maps. That includes changing colors, buildings, and destinations. Work around obstacles such as mountains and rivers, or plow right through them.

Mini Motorways is a minimalist puzzle game that tasks players with maintaining efficient commuter routes. Levels grow in size and complexity as they progress. A Creative or freeform sandbox mode is pretty common in games these days. I don’t believe Mini Motorways includes any way of sharing or downloading custom built levels, however.

I reviewed Mini Motorways three years ago when it first arrived on Nintendo Switch. It’s been out since 2019, and the series recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

“We know our players are stoked for this one” said Casey Lusas-Quaid, Community Manager, Dinosaur Polo Club. “As Mini Motorways grows and matures, we’re happy to be able to give players a much-requested creative gameplay experience. Our community helped get us to where we are now, and we can’t wait to see what you whip up with these new tools.”

Mini Motorways is available on PC and Mac, Switch, and Apple Arcade. It’s rated E for Everyone.
