Ambitious life sim inZOI is coming to consoles, though not for awhile. Krafton and inZOI Studio have confirmed that the life sim will launch on PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2026, meaning we could still be a year away.
The PS5 version will feature optimized controls and performance, and all the features of the PC version.
The sim is also getting a big free expansion with Island Getaway. Players won’t have to wait nearly as long — Island Getaway will launch on August 20, and it’s free for all players.
Island Getaway will add a new island named Cahaya. Well, technically two islands, a Main Island and Resort Island.
At Cahaya’s Main Island, ZOIs can live out their farm and fishing life, and sell their wares at the market. At the Resort Island, they can dive beneath the waters to explore coral reefs, play with dolphins, and enjoy the sunny beaches.
The launch day will kick off the Cahaya Summer Event, where players can earn rewards by exploring the islands and completing missions.
If the game is still in Early Access, is it really still DLC? Aren’t we still, er, finishing the game until it’s full launch? At least it’s free, though the cynic in me points to the currently “Mixed” user rating on Steam as the reason.
The official Mac release is also scheduled for August 20 via the App Store, and Steam.
As an ambitious The Sims competitor, inZOI launched with much fanfare back in March, racking up one million sales in its first week. All-time peak player count on Steam was nearly 90,000, which is huge. But the player base has dropped off sharply, and now hovers around 1,000-1,500. Maybe free resort-themed DLC can entice some players back.
InZOI is currently available via Steam Early Access.
