Warner Bros. Games has released DC Worlds Collide, a new free-to-play, hero collector RPG, on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as Google Play Games on PC.

DC Worlds Collide looks like a fairly standard, squad-based gacha game, where players earn (or purchase) pulls to receive random heroes (and villains) from the DC Universe. At launch, the mobile game features over 70 super heroes and villains to acquire and train to take on more powerful threats and challenges.

The art style and animations look very similar to the now-defunct DC-licensed game, MultiVersus.

As a squad-RPG, much of the strategy comes before the battle, with players picking the right team, traits, and positioning. Team synergies unlock special buffs, and players can acquire artifacts and reinforcements to further strengthen their side.

The story campaign is based on the DC stories Trinity War and Forever Evil, featuring a multiversal threat.

DC Worlds Collide features a dozen different game modes, including daily events, mini-games, and full 5v5 PvP competitive modes.

“With DC Worlds Collide, we are giving players a mobile experience with the iconic characters and stories fans have come to love in the DC universe,” said Katelynd LaVallee, Vice President and Studio Head, Warner Bros. Games San Francisco. “This game puts the power in players’ hands – from assembling custom squads and unleashing powerful moves, to exploring story-driven missions and going head-to-head in PvP battles. There’s something for every kind of player, and we are excited to see their unique character selections, team-builds and strategies.”

To celebrate the release of the new film Superman, in theaters July 11, Superman (DCU) will join the roster on July 9. Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific, and Krypto are arriving later this summer.

DC Worlds Collide is rated T for Teen. If Marvel is more your speed, check out Marvel Mystic Mayhem, another recent mobile game release.
