Gameloft has revealed details about the next big update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, including new Alice in Wonderland Realm — plus the first-ever Star Wars content.
The free content update, Wonderland Whimsy, will release on April 23.
Like the Aladdin realm in the previous update, the new Alice in Wonderland Realm will feature a trip to the iconic animated Disney film. Players will chase the white rabbit, meet Alice and the Cheshire Cat, and avoid the Queen of Hearts’ guards.
By completing the realm, players can add Alice to their Valley. Cheshire Cat will also become available, but not at first. Players will experience strange happenings around their Valleys over the next several weeks. Only by solving the mystery can we eventually welcome the mischievous cat to our Valley.
I was hoping we’d see the Queen of Hearts as well. I love my imperious villains!
The Cheshire Cat has a unique reward as part of his Friendship Quests — the Uncrafting Station! Finally, we can recycle previously crafted furniture back into materials, at the cost of some Dreamlight.
The new update also includes a new Wonderland-themed Star Path, the Garden of Whimsy. The Star Path features lots of brightly colored items, floral arrangements, and royal heart-themed fashion.
The update includes another quality of life improvement: storage expansion. By spending Dreamlight, players can easily increase the storage of any previously crafted chest.
We knew Alice in Wonderland was coming, but Star Wars!? The big news from the new update is the addition of new Star Wars-themed content coming in the Premium Shop. Players will soon be able to purchase a Jedi outfit, a lightsaber accessory, and *excited gasp* R2-D2 as a companion!
Since Dreamlight Valley’s Early Access launch in 2022, this is the first time we’ve seen official content outside of Disney or Pixar animation. No doubt Gameloft is testing the waters and monitoring how well these Star Wars items sell. Moonstone costs have not yet been revealed.
I’ll admit: I don’t care how much R2 costs, he’s coming home with me!
Still to come this year for Dreamlight Valley is the second half of the Storybook Vale DLC, as well as the long-teased Skull Rock storyline.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and Apple Arcade. It’s rated E for Everyone.
