Frontier Developments has announced the newest DLC for Planet Zoo. The Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack DLC will release on April 30 on PC ($9.99), adding seven new animals, 60 new scenery pieces, and a new scenario.

The animals in the Barnyard Animal Pack are the kind you would find on a farm, ranch, or at a local petting zoo.

  • Sussex chicken
  • Highland cattle
  • Alpine goat
  • Alpaca
  • American standard donkey
  • Hill Radnor sheep
  • Tamworth pig

The animals are docile, friendly, and love to interact with guests.

New scenery pieces reflect the rural charm of farmyard critters, including straw bales, decorative fences, wind pumps, wells, and weathervanes.

The new Scenario tasks returning character Tiffany Summers with restoring a neglected farm in New Zealand, and transforming it into an animal sanctuary.

The DLC launches alongside update 1.17 on PC. The update unlocks animal encounters, which converts habitats into areas where guests can directly interact with friendly animals (such as those in the Barnyard Animal Pack!). The update also adds several free scenery pieces, include a hand-washing station and an education board.

Tune into Frontier’s next monthly stream, Frontier Unlocked, streaming on Twitch and YouTube on Wednesday April 24 for more details.

The Planet Zoo: Backyard Animal Pack will arrive on PC on April 30. It’s also coming to Planet Zoo: Console Edition, though a release date has not been announced.

Planet Zoo released in 2019 as a spiritual successor to beloved park sim Zoo Tycoon, from the developers of the excellent Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution series. Over 15 DLC packs have been released for Planet Zoo over the years, adding dozens of new animals.

Planet Zoo is rated E10+.
