Ubisoft released the first trailer showing actual gameplay footage for upcoming action-adventure game Star Wars Outlaws. The Official Story Trailer also announced the released date: August 30, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Star Wars Outlaws is a single player, story-driven adventure that’s set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi. The story stars new character Kay Vess, a Hans Solo-esque scoundrel looking for her last big score, along with her loyal alien companion Nix (an alien dog-axolotl called a merqaal).

The gameplay boasts the first-ever open world Star Wars game, but the story trailer showcases stealth, action, dialogue, and vehicular chase sequences on land, and in space.

Ubisoft certainly knows their way around giant open world games thanks to the Assassin’s Creed series, thought the most recent Assassin’s Creed purposefully scaled-down the large open world into a smaller, more focused experience.

In addition to the standard edition ($69.99), Ubisoft announced Gold and Ultimate Editions. The Gold Edition ($109.99) includes three days of early access and the season pass, featuring two post-launch DLC packs, and one exclusive launch-day mission.

The Ultimate Edition ($129.99) includes everything in the Gold level, plus two more cosmetic packs, and the digital art book.

All pre-orders will receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which features cosmetics for Vess’ Trailblazer spaceship and speeder.

Star Wars Outlaws is rated T for Teen, with Violence, Mild Language, and Simulated Gambling.
