Paradox Interactive and developer Triumph Studios have released Primal Fury, the third DLC expansion pack for 4x strategy game Age of Wonders 4 ($9.99). The DLC adds new forms, tomes, and a new culture, and launches alongside a big free update for all players.

Primal Fury’s big new addition is the Primal Culture, which in turn features seven different animal types that your people can mold themselves after, as well as a specific terrain type.

Enhancing the bestial theme are two new form shapes (wolf-folk and goat-folk), four exotic mounts (including crocodiles and mammoths), and six new wildlife creatures.

Two new Tomes of Magic include the Tome of Fey Mists, specializing in protective mists, and the Tome of the Stormborne, which features ocean buffs, and Naga transformations.

The DLC also includes a new scenario with Stormwreathed Isles, which sounds perfect for the Stormborne Tome.

The DLC launches alongside the Wolf Update for all AoW4 players. This is a massive update that changes many core elements of the game, including decoupling hero recruitment with the number of cities, expanding the pantheon system, and completely re-working Necromancy and its associated Tomes.

Age of Wonders 4 has one more expansion due to arrive later this year, Eldritch Realms.

Age of Wonders 4 is available on PC (Steam, Epic, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated T for Teen.
