Overwatch 2 has received its biggest content update yet with Invasion. Along with a new seasonal battle pass, Invasion adds co-op story missions and events, a new pvp game mode, a new support hero, and new achievement tracking system.

Apparently it’s also officially out of Early Access, which everyone forgot about anyway.

The new support hero is Illari, a warrior from Peru who wields the powers of the sun. Unlike most supports, Illari can deal quite a bit of damage with her powerful solar rifle. She can heal allies by deploying healing pylons, and knock enemies away with Outburst. Her Ultimate, Captive Sun, channels a huge explosion of solar energy, making enemies vulnerable to explosions.

To unlock Illari, you’ll need to progress to tier 45 on the battle pass, or get her instantly with the Premium Battle Pass.

Invasion Story Missions is a PvE game mode designed for four players. Hero choices are pre-selected for each mission, and players can tackle the forces of Null Sector on four different difficulty levels.

Complete story missions to earn rewards, such as the Vigilante Legendary skin, and Sojourn hero in PvP modes.

The Overwatch Invasion Bundle grants permanent access to the new story missions, as well as 1,000 Overwatch Comics.

The new PvP mode is Flashpoint. Flashpoint appears on two new maps, Suravasa and New Junk City. These large maps feature randomized control points. As soon as one point is captured, another one unlocks, and the first to three captures wins.

The Invasion update also adds a new progression system that tracks achievements across heroes, roles, and game modes. Earning achievements will unlock new rewards, such as titles, icons, and name cards.

Overwatch 2 is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated T for Teen.
