During the latest D&D Direct, Wizards of the Coast announced a new partnership with Microsoft and Mojang Studios to create an official Minecraft D&D DLC pack, launching on the Minecraft Marketplace this Spring.

In the D&D DLC (gosh that’s fun to say), players can explore infamous locations in the Forgotten Realms, such as Icewind Dale and Candlekeep. Players can choose to play as official D&D classes such as wizard, rogue, and barbarian, and fight iconic D&D monsters like beholders, mimics, owlbears, and lots and lots of dragons!

The adventure features custom character stats and 20-sided dice to recreate an authentic tabletop experience, as well as fully-voiced dialogue.

The partnership is going both ways — a new Monstrous Compendium is available now at Minecraft and DnD Beyond stores. This free digital book adapts Minecraft creatures into official D&D Fifth Edition statblocks, such as the creeper and the ender dragon.

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Wizards of the Coast, to introduce a brand new, story-driven Dungeons & Dragons DLC to Minecraft! We can’t wait for the community to dive in and experience a blocky take on the world of D&D,” said Riccardo Lenzi, Senior Producer, Mojang Studios.

Minecraft is rated E10+.
