Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed ain’t afraid of no ghost when it launches in October

Sony and developer IllFonic announced the release date for multiplayer game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and it couldn’t be more appropriate. Spirits Unleashed will be unleashed on October 18 on PC (Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Spirits Unleashed is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where 4 ‘busters face off against one lone ghost player. The ghostbusters use iconic equipment such as the PKE meter and particle thrower to locate and trap the offending ghost.

The ghost’s goal is to scare civilians and cause panic by filling the Global Haunt levels. The ghost can use slime to stun the ghostbusters, possess objects, and summon minions to throw at the pesky heroes.

Between matches, players can customize their ghostbuster (and their ghost) at the firehouse HQ.

Spirits Unleashed supports online multiplayer as well as an offline solo mode with bots.

Pre-orders are available now. Digital pre-orders will receive the Slimer ghost skin, custom particle thrower and proton pack, and special clothing skin.
