One of my most anticipated games of the year just got… more anticipated! During Summer Game Fest, Dotemu and Tribute Games revealed another fan-favorite playable character for upcoming 2D beat ’em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Casey Jones!
Oh and we also got a release date: June 16. That’s next week!
Turtle ally Casey Jones is a balanced fighter when it comes to speed, range, and power, donning his signature mask and hockey stick. Casey Jones joins the roster as an unlockable character, and the third surprise character after April O’Neil and Master Splinter.
The new trailer also showed off the beat ’em up’s six-player co-op, including local and online and drop-in/drop-out. Enemies scale with the number of players, creating a wonderful chorus of chaos.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge merges elements of the classic cartoon, games and toys to create an ultimate celebration of a cast of beloved heroes,” said Jean-Francois Major, co-founder, Tribute Games. “This game is both a tribute to an incredible era of TMNT as well as the spectacular community that’s kept this stage of the series active through their love for classic TMNT.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will launch on PC (Steam, Microsoft), PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One (including Game Pass) on June 16. Pre-orders receive a 10% discount.
