You just can’t make a Marvel game without including the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 2K and Marvel Entertainment have announced the release date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns: October 7. The announcement also revealed the inclusion of the web-slinger to the roster of heroes, and Venom to the villains!

Though you wouldn’t realize it from the cinematic trailer, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical, turn-based strategy game by the developers of the XCOM and Civilization series.

A demon, Lilith, has invaded Earth, and building an army out of super-powered people, including Hulk, Scarlet Witch, and Venom.

You play as a customizable hero called The Hunter, and team up with legendary heroes such as Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Blade, Captain Marvel, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Spider-Man.

“We’re thrilled to invite players into the darker, supernatural side of Marvel,” said Bill Rosemann, Vice President, Marvel Games. “In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, our friends at Firaxis and 2K have created an incredibly unique and totally authentic Marvel experience that fans can leap into this October!”

Midnight Suns will launch with three special editions: the Enhanced Edition, Digital+, and Legendary Edition. The Enhanced Edition includes premium hero skins, while the Legendary Edition includes even more premium hero skins, as well as the season pass for four future post-launch DLC packs.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will release on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 7. It will release on Switch on a “later date.” It’s rated T for Teen.
