After two years in early access on Steam (and later on PlayStation 5), Temtem is finally launching this year. Humble Games and developer Crema Games have confirmed a release date for 1.0: September 6, which will also bring the creature battler to Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S.

Like most creature battlers, Temtem wholly embraces its progenitor, Pokémon. You’ll begin as a burgeoning monster trainer, with the choice of three different starter temtem. From there you’ll travel the world, battling and collecting more monsters and perfecting your ultimate team.

One of the main differences in Temtem is that every battle is 2v2. This adds a deeper layer of strategy. The other big difference is that whereas the Pokémon games are primarily single player RPGs, Temtem is a massively multiplayer RPG. With the 2v2 battles, two players can join forces and battle together. Other MMO-features include houses, cosmetics, and seasonal content.

Temtem will be available in digital and physical editions (for Switch, PS5, and XBX/S), as well as a special Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition features a statue diroama of the three starter Temtem, a set of pins, patches, temcards, and a Collector’s Edition box.

Temtem is currently available on Steam and PlayStation 5 in early access. It will fully launch on September 6, and come to Switch and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated E10+.
