Warner Bros. Games released a new cinematic trailer for MultiVersus, a Smash Bros-like fighting game featuring various WB franchise characters, developed Player First Games. The trailer also includes beta updates: Closed Alpha begins this week on May 19 and runs through May 27. Open Beta is coming in July.

The trailer features characters from DC comics, Adventure Time, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, and Steven Universe.

I admit, I had to look up the sword-wielding young woman. It’s Arya Stark from Game of Thrones — not exactly as kid-friendly as the others! The antlered dog shown briefly at the end is Reindog, an original character designed specifically for the game.

In MultiVersus, players battle in an arena and try to knock each other off, like Super Smash Bros. Modes include 2 v 2, 1 v 1, and 4 player free-for-all, as well as a practice mode.

The closed alpha will feature 15 playable characters and seven different maps.

Players can register now at the main website for a chance to get into the Closed Alpha. The open beta will be available for everyone beginning in July, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Cross-play support will be available.

MultiVersus is rated T for Teen with Fantasy Violence and Language. It will be free-to-play with in-game purchases.
