It might be easy to dismiss yet another arcade racing game, especially one backed by an obvious toy line. Yet Hot Wheels Unleashed is a great game, and Mattel has the sales to prove it.

Mattel, along with Italian developer Milestone, announced that Hot Wheels Unleashed has officially sold over one million copies, including physical and digital stores, since its launch on September 30. It’s Milestone’s fastest-selling game ever.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a single and multiplayer racing game featuring dozens of official Hot Wheels replica cars. Cars feature different stats, customizable skins, and rarity levels for unlocking as you play. Game modes include a career mode, time trials, and a track editor to create your own levels and share them online.

In keeping with the toy car theme, tracks can feature physics-defying loops, ramps, and twists, and a giant spider that can web passing cars.

“Ever since we announced Hot Wheels Unleashed back in February, we’ve received thousands of heartfelt messages from fans,” said Luisa Bixio, CEO, Milestone. “This milestone is the umpteenth display of affection from our passionate community.”

Hot Wheels Unleashed is available on PC (Steam, EGS), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated E for Everyone.
