THQ Nordic and developer Experiment 101 have released open-world action-RPG Biomutant on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One ($59.99).

The publisher describes Biomutant as an “open-world, post-apocalyptic Wung-Fu fable RPG.” The game stars a mutant racoon thing who resembles a post-apocalyptic version of Marvel’s, Rocket Racoon. Explore a plague-ridden world, including scaling mountains and crawling underground, and pilot unique vehicles like jet-skis and hot air balloons.

Third-person action combat includes the freedom to mix shooting, melee, and powersets learned from mutations. As a mutant, you’ll be able to reconfigure your DNA, changing your looks, attributes, and unlocking different powers, like telekinesis and levitation.

In addition to mutations and martial arts, you can also wield weapons – duh! Weapon crafting opens up 1 and 2-handed melee weapons, rifles and shotguns, as well as more unconventional gear such as chainsaws and contaminated vials of toxic death. You’ll also need the right gear to explore more exotic locations, like a gas-mask for dead zones.

Biomutant is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s rated T for Teen.
