Season two has set sail for multiplayer pirate ’em up Sea of Thieves, adding a new 100-item Plunder Pass and several free content updates and features.

Forts of Fortune are new combat challenges that are even more challenging than Skeleton Forts, with more enemy resistance. If you can complete them, you’ll be rewarded with high-level loot, including guaranteed Athena’s Treasures.

Season two also adds new trade routs for the Merchant Alliance. Emissaries can work the economy by purchasing new Commodity Crates for cheap, then selling them at other outposts where the price is higher. The Merchant Alliance also sells resource crates, including cannonballs, bananas, and wooden planks. High-ranking emissaries can earn new rewards through their ledgers.

With a new season comes a new Plunder Pass, Sea of Thieves’ Fortnite-like monetization. For 999 Ancient Coins you can purchase the Plunder Pass to begin unlocking 100 levels of in-game rewards, including the Black Phoenix Figurehead, Backflip emote, Elemental Power Hull, and Shrouded Ghost Hunter Costume.

Sea of Thieves is available on PC (Steam, Windows Store), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also available through Xbox Game Pass. It’s rated T for Teen.
