This week Square Enix released its first online cooperative multiplayer DLC for Final Fantasy XV, called Comrades. Comrades lets players create their own characters and complete quests as members of the Kingsglaive. It’s available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Comrades is set after Chapter 13 of the story. Players take on the roles of the remaining survivors of the Kingsglaive as they battle during Noctis’ absence. Custom characters can be created who can equip royal sigils that grant special powers as they tackle beasts and complete quests. Comrades includes both multiplayer quests and a single-player campaign set around Lestallum.

Though Noctis won’t be available for story reasons, the rest of the crew of Pompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus will be playable in future updates.

Comrades is included in the Final Fantasy XV season pass ($24.99), which also includes the DLC character episodes. Comrades can also be purchased separately for $19.99. Note that online multiplayer requires Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

Still to come for Final Fantasy XV DLC is Episode Ignis, which releases December 13, and completes the season pass content. After that Final Fantasy XV is headed to PC with the Windows Edition in early 2018. The Windows Edition will include mod support, 4k support, and all of the post-launch DLC in the season pass.

Final Fantasy XV has been rated T for Teen.
