Once again Pokémon GO is celebrating the spooky season with a Halloween event. Ghost Pokémon (and creepy Pokémon like Drowzee and Cubone) will appear more frequently, and candy rewards will be doubled. Most importantly this Halloween event will usher in the first Gen 3 Pokémon from the Hoenn region of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.

The first Gen 3 Pokémon to arrive in Pokémon GO will include Sableye, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull, and Dusclops. The rest of the Gen 3 roster will “gradually arrive” beginning in December.

In addition to new Pokémon, you can also find a festive Pikachu wearing a witch hat. New trainer clothing includes Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat.

During the Halloween event all candy rewards will be doubled, including hatching, catching, and transferring Pokémon. Your buddy Pokémon will also earn candy twice as fast. Candy is used to power up Pokémon.

The in-game shop will also feature discounts on special boxes, including raid passes and incubators.

The Pokémon GO Halloween event is going on right now. It ends November 2 at 1 pm Pacific/3 pm Eastern.

In related Pokémon Halloween news, you can currently download official Pokémon stencils for pumpkin carving. Nearly 40 Stencil designs are available including Pikachu, Meowth, Litten, and Murkrow.

The official Pokémon website is also counting down 20 creepy Pokémon. Each highlighted Pokémon features a rather distributing entry from the Pokédex, such as this one from Driftloon: “Stories go that it grabs the hands of small children and drags them away to the afterlife. It dislikes heavy children.”

Happy Halloween!
