Lingokids is partnering with SEGA to add gaming icon Sonic the Hedgehog to its kid-friendly interactive platform.

Sonic will appear in five new games in the app, starting on December 3, with more to follow.

In the Kids Interactive Entertainment Report earlier this year by Lingokids, Sonic was rated the #2 most popular character among boys age 3-8 (Spider-Man was #1, if you’re curious). The report breaks down some interesting stats on Gen Alpha’s screen time.

“Parents and kids have been waiting for this — Sonic is the most searched character on our platform,” said Lingokids CEO Cristobal Viedma. “Kids as young as 2 or 3 often love Sonic, but may not be ready for a lot of his games, movies and shows. We’re thrilled to kick off this on-going collaboration and provide an age-appropriate way for kids to interact with this iconic character.”

“No ads, no chat, every piece of content vetted by education experts. That kind of environment is rare, and it’s exactly what we wanted for young fans meeting Sonic for the first time,” said Hez Chorba, Vice President, Strategy & Creative, Emerging Digital Platforms at SEGA of America. “With five more games coming in spring 2027, this is the start of an ongoing relationship, and we’re excited to keep growing it with a team that clearly understands how to build trust with families.”

Lingokids is a popular and ad-free interactive mobile app designed for younger kids ages 2-8. The subscription-based mobile app features thousands of interactive games, songs, and shows, and earned dozens of awards. It’s available on iOS, Android, and Amazon app stores.
