Apparently November 1st was Pikmin Day, as newly declared by Nintendo. The original three differently-colored Pikmin represent three 1’s, so 11/1. Nintendo godfather Shigeru Miyamoto himself explained it during the Pikmin Day Direct Showcase, so I’ll allow it.

The Pikmin Day Direct Showcase provided new details on the upcoming Pikmin 4 — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, launching on November 12 on — you guessed it, Switch 2!

The Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 is an ‘enhanced version’ of the best-selling game that just released on Nintendo Switch in 2023. This new version adds the Dandori Academy, a new mode where players can attempt special timed challenges and limited-time events using their Pikmin skills.

A free demo of Pikmin 4 — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy is available now on the Nintendo eShop. The demo will include the opening area, and two stages of Dandori Academy.

Free-to-download mobile app, Pikmin Bloom, is also getting a big new update this winter. Players can explore the new Secret Caves adventure. Plus, players who take the exams in Pikmin 4 can unlock rewards in Pikmin Bloom.

Finally, there’s a new series of shorts called “Hello! Pikmin.” The 40-second shorts are produced by Nintendo Pictures. The first two episodes are currently on the Nintendo Today app, and the official Nintendo YouTube channel.

Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy will release on November 12 on Switch 2. Pikmin Bloom is available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
