Thanks to an official Overwatch x Transformers collaboration, Overwatch 2 players can purchase cosmetic Transformers skins for several heroes, re-flavoring them as Autobots or Decepticons.
Four different Overwatch heroes get the Transformers treatment:
- Reinhardt as Optimus Prime
- Bastion as Bumblee
- Illari as Arcee
- Ramattra as Megatron
All four feature familiar colors and styles of the Cybertronian warriors — though Prime and Bumblebee are the big standouts.
Sadly, though not surprisingly, these skins cannot be earned or unlocked in-game. They are only available for purchase with real money in the in-game store. And most likely for a very limited time (probably a few weeks).
Each skins costs 2,500 Overwatch Coins (about $25), or you can grab them all in the Transformers Mega Bundle for 5,900 coins (about $59), which also includes all the Transformers intros, victory poses, player icons, sprays, and voice lines.
Overwatch 2 is in the middle of Season 11, a summer-themed event that includes Lucio Ball and Winston’s Beach Volleyball as limited-time events. On July 30, the store will add new Lifeguard skins for several heroes, including Roadhog, Lifeweaver, and Mercy. The Premium battle pass will also feature Lifeguard Lucio and Lifeguard Junkrat.
And if you’re a Transformers fan wondering why on Cybertron the Reinhardt Prime skin doesn’t re-skin Reinhardt’s hammer for Prime’s Energon Axe, perhaps it has something to do with the Mythic Shop. The Mythic Shop is getting its first Mythic Weapon skin with Reinhardt’s Bound Demon, which unleashes fiery rage with every strike.
Players can unlock the Mythic Weapon by earning Mythic Prisms from the Premium Battle Pass.
Overwatch 2 is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated T for Teen.
