Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is releasing on December 13, but you can enjoy the launch trailer right now.

Reunion is an HD remaster of Crisis Core. Crisis Core originally launched on the PlayStation Portable in 2007. It’s a prequel to Final Fantasy 7, taking place seven years before the events of the seminal RPG.

It stars new protagonist Zack Fair, a member of SOLDIER working for megacorporation Shinra. The story fills in a lot of backstory with Shinra and their dark experiments, ending right where Final Fantasy 7 begins.

The HD remaster features a complete graphical overhaul, newly arranged soundtrack, fully voiced dialogue (English and Japanese) and an updated combat system. Reunion is considered part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, of which two more parts are still forthcoming to complete the overall story.

Pre-orders of the digital version will receive the SOLDIER Materia set, which includes three powerful Materia right from the start: Dark Fire, Dark Thunder, and Dark Blizzard.

The Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) includes a mini soundtrack and a digital art book.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will release on December 13 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s rated T for Teen.
