Last weekend Studio Wildcard hosted a 24-hour charity live stream with ExtraLife, a nonprofit that helps raise money for children’s hospitals through gaming. During the stream, the developers revealed a teaser trailer for the next major expansion pack for ARK: Survival Evolved, ARK: Genesis Part 2.
The charity stream raised over $180,000, breaking past records by Studio Wildcard and placing in the Top 3 charity streams. The stream was also sponsored by Blue Microphones, Nvidia, Nitradio, Grove Street Games, and Apex Gaming PCs.
ARK: Genesis Part 2 continues the sci-fi spin-off world of the popular online, dinosaur-breeding survival game. It’s the largest expansion yet for ARK, taking place on a colony ship hurtling through space. Survivors can possess enemies with Noglins, skate on Hoversails, and manage bases with remote security cameras.
The new expansion features the voice talent of David Tennant (Good Omens) playing the villainous Sir Edmund Rockwell, and Madeleine Madden (The Wheel of Time) as the robotic AI HLN-A, aka Helena.
A second trailer shows off a free new update for ARK players, called TLC Pass #3. It adds new improvements to the Stegosaurus and Woolly Mammoth, insect and wyvern breeding, and a new HUD for taming creatures. TLC Pass #3 is available to everyone on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Xbox One players can enjoy a free enhancement upgrade on Xbox Series X/S.
ARK: Genesis Part 2 will launch in March 2021, as part of the ARK Genesis Season Pass. ARK is rated T for Teen.
