Indie Belgian studio Snowberry Games announced Silk & Sorrow, a co-op adventure designed for two players. Silk & Sorrow is due out in February 2027 on Steam PC, with a free demo arriving this December.

Silk & Sorrow stars two anthropomorphized bug kids who awaken to a world without their glowworm Sun Queen. Without the light of the matriarch, the players must rely on a single glowing grub named Glint. However, Glint’s light is limited, and only one player can carry them at a time.

By feeding Glint fireflies, the little creature grows stronger and unlocks new abilities. The players must work together to manage and coordinate their limited light source, while dealing with dangerous creatures in a dark world of discarded trash and waste.

“Glint started as a normal lantern,”  said Mano, Game Designer, Snowberry Games. “Then we thought, what if the thing helping these children survive was actually another creature they could care for? That small change ended up becoming one of the most important parts of the game.”

The co-op game is built and designed exclusively for two players, with local and online multiplayer options. Sounds like Hazelight Games’ award-winning co-op adventures, such as It Takes Two and Split/Fiction, but with a much darker and more serious tone. The world of trash heaps and forgotten people is hand-drawn and quite intriguing.

Silk & Sorrow will release in February 2027. Chapter 1 will arrive via a free demo this December.
