Indie studio Oxalis Games announced that life sim Moonfrost will release on Steam Early Access on October 12.

Most life sims involve restoring a farm, or parts of a town. In Moonfrost, the whole dang world is in bad shape.

An apocalyptic event rained icy meteors all over the world. As a Frost Hunter, the player has the ability to harness the power of these destructive meteors, and transform them into helpful structures. In doing so, they will help rebuild their local town, build relationships, and heal a broken world.

The game promises a narrative-driven experience alongside the usual life sim activities of farming, fishing, crafting, foraging, cooking, and more. At the same time, players will help villagers restore their homes and businesses, while dealing with their unique personalities and story arcs.

I’m digging the isometric, handcrafted pixel art visual style!

The Early Access version will feature about 50% of the main story campaign, along with 11 NPCs. Relationships can be increased up to level 3, so no romance for now.

Oxalis Games is also working on Tiny Dwellings, a cozy building game with a similar pixel art style. Tiny Dwellings will launch during Steam Next Fest later this month.

Moonfrost will release on Steam Early Access on October 12.
