During Gamescom 2026, NetEase Games and developer Naked Rain revealed the release date for highly anticipated free-to-play RPG, ANANTA. ANANTA will release on January 15, 2027 on Steam PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile platforms.
ANANTA is set in a modern world inspired by our own global metropolises. The main character, who can be male or female, is recruited as a supernatural investigator known as the Captain. But everyone refers to them as… the Yeetmaster?
Exploring the open world city is a major part of gameplay, including traveling by car, helicopter, subway, or boat, and visiting various shops, stores, and cafés.
In this modern world, social influence and algorithms control everything (how fantastical!), and players will have to leverage their growing influence to unlock new perks and resources. Players will also recruit additional allies and agents to build their team and maintain important relationships.
Combat plays out like a stylized martial arts action game, with players transforming nearby objects into useful weapons. And also some powers and moves that look suspiciously like Spider-Man and Venom from the Insomniac Marvel’s Spider-Man games.
In lieu of a gacha system, ANANTA will be monetized via paid character skins and other customization options.
Over 20 million players have pre-registered for the game on mobile platforms, unlocking some in-game rewards. More rewards are unlocked at even bigger milestones leading up to launch.
ANANTA will release on January 15, 2027 on Steam PC, PlayStation 5, and iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
