The Wendy’s Company has partnered with Sega to bring Sonic the Hedgehog trading cards, and collectible card cases, to Wendy’s Kid’s Meals.
From now until September 14 (or while supplies last), fans can celebrate Sonic’s 35th anniversary inside a Wendy’s Kid’s Meal. Each Kid’s Meal features one of seven collectible card cases featuring fan favorite characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy Rose, Rouge, and Silver.
Each card case features a set of five character cards featuring that character, for a total of 35 different cards across all seven case sets.
A Wendy’s Kid’s Meal features either a 2-piece chicken tenders, 4-piece nuggets, or hamburger (or cheeseburger). The meal includes a choice of Jr. Fries or Apple Bites. Drink choices include Milk, Pure Life Bottled Water, Honest Kids Fruit Punch, a fountain drink, or a Jr. Frosty. Prices range from $3.49 to $4.39.
This year marks Sonic’s 35th Anniversary, and Sega has an official website dedicated to celebrating the Blue Hedgehog’s milestone. So far, the anniversary features social media retrospective posts, official Sonic 35 merchandise, a birthday playlist on Spotify, and an art gallery tour.
Sonic’s most recent video game release, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, also received a 35th anniversary update, featuring classic Sonic, the Mach Cyclone car, and new music tracks.
