Two-person indie team Studio Nachtwerk announced that their upcoming party brawler, Dino Party, will release on Steam PC on August 14.

Dino Party is designed for 2-4 players, and looks like a combination of Super Smash Bros.‘ platform fighting, with Mario Party’s quick and chaotic mini-games. Old school vibes, in a good way!

Up to four players compete in 35 different arenas and a dozen different minigame formats, including soccer matches, crumbling floors, lava pits, and conveyor belts. Regardless of the game or hazards, players have the same basic move set in every match, with the ability to punch, dodge, and shield their way to victory.

Games are meant to be played in quick 15-minute bursts, and support co-op as well as free for all PvP.

Dino Party also features over 120 unlockable cosmetics, allowing players to create their own dino species with different colors, patterns, and accessories.

I like the cartoonish dinosaur designs, though not sure why they all have to have their tongue sticking out!

“We created Dino Party to be a dinosaur-fighting, laughter-building experience for groups of friends.” said Florian Wolf, co-creator. “Jump in, have a blast with buddies, and remember what makes gaming fun on Aug. 14!”

A free demo is available on Steam. Dino Party will release on August 14.
