Watch out, Black Flag Resynced, there’s a new pirate game in town! Indie developer Kraken Express announced that their debut game, Windrose, has sold over 1.5 million copies since launching via Early Access on Steam and Epic.
The dev team celebrated by releasing a new Accolades trailer, which highlights some funny Steam reviews (above).
As Windrose is sailing into the third week, we’d like to present you this accolades/thank you trailer. That’s a token of our appreciation for your support, patience, and passion. Hopefully you will like it and chuckle at some of the funniest Steam reviews we’ve put in there. With this trailer we also celebrate another milestone – over 1,500,000 copies sold. The community keeps growing, the feedback keeps flowing, and looking at this, we feel huge gratitude. Thank you for this opportunity, captains!
A recent patch added over 40 building pieces, along with over 50 fixes and changes. Plus, improved load times, stability, and performance.
The developers also promise a full content roadmap coming in the next couple months. The first big content drop will add an all-new undead-infested biome called the Ashlands.
Windrose is an open world survival craft set in an alt version of the Age of Piracy (think the Pirates of the Caribbean films). Players explore a huge open world, engage in third-person combat inspired by Dark Souls, and freely build and customize their own buildings and island bases a la Valheim. Oh, and command your own pirate ship, of course!
Windrose is playable solo offline, or cooperatively online with up to eight players, including dedicated servers.
The early access version features three biomes in a procedurally generated world, including bosses, factions, dungeons, and full naval battles.
Windrose is currently available on PC, through Steam and Epic Games Store.
