During a Worldwide Reveal Showcase, Ubisoft announced what we’ve all been waiting for: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a full remake of one of the best Assassin’s Creed games. Black Flag Resynced will release on July 9 on PC (Steam, Epic, Ubisoft), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S ($59.99).

Developed by Ubisoft Singapore using the newest version of the Anvil Engine (Assassin’s Creed Shadows), the remake features raytracing, global illumination, Physically Based Rendering, 60 FPS, and mondern water simulation.

The new engine provides dynamic weather events, destructable objects, and reworked sailing physics.

Combat has been reworked with parrying and takedowns, as well as quick-fire rope dart and pistol attacks. Stealth is also improved, with Observe mode, and the ability to crouch anywhere on land or dive anywhere in the water to approach stealthily.

Black Flag Resynced also includes new story content, including new naval Officers with their own special quests and features. Plus, more customization options for the player’s ship, improvements to Kenway’s Fleet, and more crew shanties.

Released in 2013, Black Flag is the fourth main game in the series, and sixth Assassin’s Creed game overall. It’s set in the Age of Sail in the early 18th century, and stars Edward Kenway, a pirate who becomes embroiled in the plot between the templars and assassins. The action-adventure game maintained the series’ excellent stealth gameplay and detailed historical setting, and added a sprawling open world where players commanded their own ship to explore the Caribbean.

Pre-ordering the Standard Edition includes Blackbeared’s Crimson Pack, featuring the Crimson Costume, Sword, and Pistol with unique perks.

The Deluxe Edition ($69.99) includes the Master assassin Naval Pack and Character Pack, with outfits and weapons for the Jackdaw, and Kenway.

Ubisoft also announced a fancy Collector’s Edition, featuring a statue of Edward Kenway, a logbook, metal brooch, cloth map, and more.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will release on July 9. It’s rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
