After about a year in closed beta, Indie studio Shiro Games announced that multiplayer RPG, Farever, will launch via Steam Early Access on May 6.
Though not quite an MMO, Farever is an online multiplayer RPG, indie style.
Players can explore the brightly colored, open fantasy world of Siagarta, with an art style that resembles the most recent Legend of Zelda games.
The Zelda comparison might be particularly apt in traversal, as players can freely climb cliffs and glide across the sky.
Players can choose from several different fantasy classes, and further specialize with different weapon skills, gear, and abilities.
Play solo, or group up together, as enemies dynamically scale and adapt to group size.
Plus there’s the usual MMO/RPG professions of cooking, crafting, trading, etc. And fun mounts!
“Farever is about bringing the fantasy adventures we’ve always dreamed of to life in a shared world,” said Nicolas Cannasse, CEO, Shiro Games. “We want players to shape their own stories and make the world feel alive together when Early Access begins.”
At Early Access launch, Farver will feature four different classes covering the main party roles. According to the Steam page, the game will remain in Early Access for about a year. Future content includes more regions and dungeons, expanded progression, and seasonal events.
Shiro Games is known for developing solid strategy games and RPGs such as Dune: Spice Wars, Wartales, and Northgard, as well as publishing other indies through Shiro Unlimited.
