Game Mill Entertainment, with developer PHL Collective, along with Sony Pictures, have released a new original game based on the Goosebumps children’s series. Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek is available now on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox.
In the suitably spooky town of Little Creek, young teen Sloane Spencer investigates a series of haunted locations, including abandoned theaters, dark libraries, and what looks like an Egyptian tomb? As Sloane, players will sneak past monsters and solve puzzles and riddles.
It’s a fully 3D adventure game that utilizes Goosebumps’ unique blend of kid-friendly horror stories and monsters.
The locations, monsters, and stories are inspired by the series, though Terror in Little Creek isn’t based on any one book in particular. As an elder millennial, I have a huge amount of nostalgia for the original series, which blends light horror with some Twilight Zone-esque shockers. Hopefully there are a few fun twists in the game as well.
Terror in Little Creek is far from the first Goosebumps video game. The most recent was Dead of Night, which released in 2020, but was an underwhelming first-person survival action game. Terror in Little Creek looks like a way better adaptation of the series as an adventure game.
The standard edition is $39.99, while a special Frightmare Edition includes several in-game skins, and a concept art viewer for characters and monsters.
Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek is rated E10+.
