As teased in the previous 2025 roadmap, the next Disney IP to arrive in life sim Disney Dreamlight Valley is Inside Out. The Emotional Rescue update will arrive on August 20, adding two new villagers, a new Realm, and a new Star Path.

The new Inside Out Realm puts players inside the mind of Riley. As a new Mind Worker, you’ll work with Joy and Sadness to repair the Emotional Control Console. After completing the Realm, players can welcome Joy and Sadness into their village. Although Inside Out features an ensemble cast between all the emotions, Joy and Sadness are definitely the main characters in the first movie.
The new Star Path is Retro Roadtrip, featuring retro fashions, diner-inspired furniture, and a new Fox companion. By completing various duties around the Valley, players can unlock rewards for a limited time.
The new update also brings back the Memory Mania mini-event from last Summer (when Inside Out 2 released). By collecting Riley’s gear and spawning memory orbs, players can complete the tasks and earn new rewards, including a new Animal Companion inspired by Nostalgia.
The update also adds some more quality of life improvements, including pairing diagonal fences with diagonal paths, and improved House customization.
Disney Dreamlight Valley has had a big year, with major updates bringing new characters, events, and Realms, as well as completing the Storybook Vale DLC. The life sim is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. It’s rated E for Everyone.
