After a delay earlier this year, Team17 and indie developer Sassy Chap Games’ cheeky dating simulator, Date Everything, has finally arrived on PC and consoles.
Date Everything is a dating sim that takes place entirely at home. Your potential partners? Attractive, anthropomorphic versions of all your household objects, elements, and even feelings!
Who knew your refrigerator was such a hottie?
The date-able objects appear when the player uses the mysterious, newly arrive “Dateviator” glasses. The glasses reveal new date-able figures, transforming everyday objects such as a laundry basket or vacuum into a person with their own personalities and storylines.
A total of 100(!) fully voiced characters are available to discover. The voice cast is absolutely nuts, featuring the biggest names in gaming, including Matt Mercer (Critical Role), Laura Bailey (The Last of Us), Neil Newborn (Baldur’s Gate 3), Troy Baker (Indiana Jones and the Great Circle), Ashly Burch (Horizon), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16), and more!
The house acts as a fully explorable sandbox where players walk around and discover new partners at their own pace. Each character has multiple branching dialogues and endings.
All told, the dating sim features over 11,000 hand-drawn images, 1.2 million words, 70,000 voicelines, and over 4 hours of music (each character has their own theme, naturally).
Date Everything is available now on Steam, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. Interestingly, there’s a discrepancy in the ESRB rating. The publisher’s trailer currently includes the T for Teen watermark. However, all the gaming stores list the game under M for Mature (17+), with Drug Reference, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, and Strong Language. As a dating sim, I would err on the side of caution when it comes to the rating!
