One of the best puzzle games of the last few years, Dorfromantik, is finally coming to non-Nintendo consoles. Toukana Interactive announced a new partnership that will bring the beloved puzzled game to PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices. Release dates have not yet been announced.

Headup Games and ClockStone Studio will help bring the game to other platforms. The PlayStation and Xbox versions will be “largely faithful,” to the original PC version.

In Dorfromantik, players are presented with a blank map and a stack of randomized tiles depicting forests, villages, rivers, train tracks, and more. From there, tiles are placed without restriction, one at a time. By creating certain themed areas and biomes, players can score big points and unlock additional tiles..

ClockStone Studio is creating the mobile edition, which will feature fresh mechanics, touch controls, and optimization for on-the-go play.

Toukana Interactive hopes these indie studio partnerships can continue with additional projects in the future.

“This milestone means a lot to us. Dorfromantik is more than just a game – it’s the foundation that allows us to now pursue even more ambitious projects, like Star Birds, without relying on external publishers or investors. The success of Dorfromantik empowers us to work more independently, make our own creative decisions, and shape our future as a studio on our own terms.

The industry partnerships allows us to expand Dorfromantik to new platforms without slowing down development on Star Birds – a balance we’re proud to maintain.”

Toukana’s next project is Star Birds, an interplanetary strategy and resource game.

A release date for the mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox versions have not been announced. Dorfromantik is currently available on PC (Steam, GOG), and Nintendo Switch, and rated E for Everyone.
