Krafton, Inc has released life sim inZOI via Steam Early Access ($39.99). The developers have pledged that all updates and DLC will be added for free up until full release.
InZOI is a modernized take on The Sims, featuring a fully simulated community of characters, called Zois. The character creator offers over 250 options for customizing your Zois, as well as over 400 different mental elements to create and develop their personality. The Early Access launch features two cities to explore, full of Zois to interact with.
As many Sims veterans have been pointing out, inZOI Early Access already includes many features that arrived much later in The Sims 4 via expansion packs, including pets, seasons, and weather. Plus, the game engine is powered by Unreal Engine 5, and actually looks like a modern game world.
Creation tools are powered by generative AI, creating images from text prompts, and transforming 2D images into 3D objects.
“I created and nurtured inZOI with great care as if it were my child, though it still has a lot of room for improvement,” said Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim, CEO and game director. “As inZOI takes its first steps into the world, I feel both proud and somewhat anxious – hoping it won’t stumble or get hurt. It would be deeply appreciated if you could watch over the game with warmth and support.” Kjun added, “As we begin early access for inZOI, we will engage sincerely with players across the globe to continually improve the game, one step at a time.”
Future updates will add modding support, and new cities, and refine other gameplay features, such as driving. See the inZoi Showcase for more details.
According to the Steam page, the developers are planning on keeping inZOI in Early Access for at least one year.
InZOI is rated T for Teen with Mild Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Comic Mischief.
