Maxis and EA are celebrating The Sims 25th anniversary this year with new free content updates for The Sims 4, and a nostalgic limited-time event.

The Sims 25 Behind the Sims video kicked off the celebration with three new Kits. The new Kits are Secret Sanctuary, Casanova Cave, and Comfy Gamer, which include new Build Buy and Create a Sim items.

The actual anniversary date of the original life sim is on February 4. To celebrate, developers and content creators will host The Sims 25 Hour Livestream via YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. The marathon stream starts at 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern.

The Sims 4 will also get a big update on February 4, bringing over 70 new items for Build Buy and Create a Sim. New hairstyles, clothing, accessories, window and door styles, and a cute pirate ship playset for the kiddos.

The next limited-time event for Live Mode is called Blast from the Past. Each week, players can earn rewards inspired by clothing and items from the original game, including an inflatable chair, alarm clock, and birthday cake.

The event begins — you guessed it, February 4!

Sims Labs have been learning from playtests and feedback to provide requested updates to The Sims 4. The main menu will now prominently display your latest save. And the townie homes from the base game, including Pancake, Goth, and BFF, have all received some nice makeovers.

The Motherlode Season begins February 6. The roadmap also teases something coming on February 25.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox, and rated T for Teen.
