Planet Coaster 2 may have had a rocky launch last fall, but that’s not stopping Frontier Developments from revealing upcoming features in the 2025 Spring Roadmap. The roadmap includes improvements to guest navigation, better performance, more rides, and other features.

Update 2 arrives in February, adding custom video billboards and speakers, alongside more coasters and a returning flat ride, Pathos III. More importantly, we’ll see much-needed improvement on guest navigation, multi-select tools, performance improvements, and enhanced management.

March will add another big update, with more returning rides and coasters, and improvements to flume rides.

We don’t yet know what’s coming in April or May, though more new features are teased in April. Getting one big update each month is a solid schedule. Though no updates in January.

Planet Coaster 2 released in last November and received mixed reviews. New features such as flumes and pools are nice, and expanded scenery and pathing. But management aspects weren’t improved (or actively made worse), and the sequel suffers from bugs and annoying interface issues.

We didn’t mince words in our review, calling Planet Coaster 2 “a mediocre sequel that sometimes feels more like a glorified expansion pack still in Early Access.”

Hopefully these updates will bring it up to the level of Frontier’s other sim games.

Planet Coaster 2 is available on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
